Get That Skin Glow

Nothing says “summer” like healthy, glowing skin. In addition to a consistent and gentle skin care routine, drinking fresh squeezed juices may help improve the overall look of your skin. I’ve been juicing for quite some time and have realized great skin benefits.

I’ve learned that foods like carrots, sweet potatoes and squashes are high in beta carotene and antioxidants, giving skin a subtle glow. For centuries, ginger and turmeric have been used as anti-inflammatory agents in traditional medicine. Ginger boosts circulation, giving cheeks a rosy flush, and turmeric is believed to speed up cell regeneration. So, they are ingredients I like to use to care for my skin from the inside out.

Below is one of my favorite juice recipes that I’d like to share with you. It’s a simple and delicious blend. When cooking and juicing, I use organic fruits and vegetables to avoid pesticides. I also wash them very well to remove any dirt. So, my juices look and taste very fresh.

Ingredients:

2 carrots
1 green apple
1 lemon (skin removed)
1” piece of ginger root
1/2” piece of turmeric root
2-3 ice cubes

Mixing Instructions:

Using a low-speed juicer, juice all the ingredients. Combine the juices in a mason jar or cocktail shaker. Add ice cubes and securely cover the container. Briskly shake over ice for two minutes. Serve chilled.

Drink and enjoy!
